Trace heating

The principle function of Trace Heating is the maintenence of a specific temperature on pipes of vessels by balancing the heat losses through thermal insulation.

Sub-zero temperatures do untold damage to pipework potentially bursting water pipes, causing flooding. While insulation can delay the freezing process, it cannot prevent it.

Trace Heating can be installed on almost every type of pipeline system. In a correctly designed and installed system, the heating cable will not overheat even when overlapped or closely spaced. It can even be attached to plastic pipes. An additional outer jacket protects the heating cable from severe environmental conditions. The system can be specified for both hzardous and non-hazardous areas.

Trace Heating is a cost-effective solution because it heats only in response to a fall in local temperature. So each small section of pipework is in effect, individually heated only enough to bring it to the desired temperature. That is what creates the consistency of temperature control and minimises energy use.
